Technologies for medicine are always special since they must be occupied with weak people. The technologies must be functional for the fundamental needs of medical staffs to deal with many circumstances of medical treatments. To enhance medical services, the technologies should be capable to provide information in time. Deeper information or treatment guidance over medical database or medical instrument network should be obtained as well.

        Agile Technologies for Medicine Research Group (AT Research Group) was established in 2017, deliberately for researching enhance technologies for medicine. We aim to create instrument which suit for capturing fast response e.g. neuronal response or somatosensory response. The data will be proceeded to kinds of worthwhile information e.g. reconstruction images, pattern recognition; and respond to the users real time.

        Apart from agile technologies, we are also interesting in hospital systems for the better quality of services. These include indoor air quality, illumination design, sound pollution, water treatment, and radiation in hospitals those could affect the health of medical staffs, patients (both staying and not staying overnight), and all kinds of visitors in any particular service area. We would like to engineer for improvement, or at least to provide measurements to aware the people.

Current Projects:

    • Multifrequency Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) instrument development (ongoing, estimated finishing time: July 2018 (phase 1)) : Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is a noninvasive technique to image conductivity distribution of a measure subject. With a very high temporal resolution (higher than 100 frames per second) and cheap cost of EIT machine, it is very attractive to many medical applications. In the picture, EIT was used to monitor haemodynamic response of the brain due to short artery compression.

    • Multifrequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) instrument development (ongoing, estimated finishing time: Aug 2018 (phase 1)) : Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is a method for estimating body composition, and in particular body fat. The fat measured from BIA can be used as an indicator for roughly determining how healthy on individual over time.

    • Fetal movement counting device development (ongoing, estimated finishing time: Aug 2018 (phase 1)) : Counting the movement of fetal is commonly used to preliminarily assess the abnormality of pregnancy. However, counting by mothers may not accurate, and also takes time. The device is developed to help mothers, and also it is aimed to standardize the counting patterns for better diagnosis.

     • Indoor air quality survey in service and non-service areas in hospitals (ongoing, estimated finishing time: June 2018 (phase 1)) .

    • ICU environment evaluation to sleeping quality of severe illness patients (ongoing, estimated finishing time: Apr 2019 (phase 1)) .

    • Wheel chair and transporting bed for infected patients (ongoing, estimated finishing time: Dec 2018 (phase 1))
